2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

a) Information You Provide to Us

Account Information: When you register for a ReHop account, we collect your email address, a username, and a hashed password.

b) Information We Do Not Store

Payment Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, you provide payment information directly to our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive, store, or have access to your full credit card details. Stripe provides us with a token that represents your account, your card's expiration date, card type, and the last four digits of your credit card number.

IP Addresses of Your Visitors: For the purpose of providing analytics (e.g., country-level data), we process the IP addresses of visitors to your ReHop links in memory. The IP address is used solely to determine the visitor's country and is then immediately discarded. It is never stored on our servers or in any logs.

c) Information We Collect Automatically

Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand website traffic and usage. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect any personal data or personally identifiable information (PII). It generates a random visitor ID to differentiate between visitors but does not track individuals across websites.

User-Generated Content: We process the URLs, QR codes, and other link-related data you create and manage within our Services in order to provide the core functionality of ReHop.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Maintain the Services: To create and manage your account, process your subscriptions, and provide the core features of ReHop.
  • To Communicate With You: To send you transactional emails, such as account verification, payment confirmations, and customer support messages.
  • To Improve Our Services: To understand how our users interact with ReHop, allowing us to improve the user experience and develop new features.
  • For Security and Compliance: To prevent abuse, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Our legal basis for collecting and using your personal information is as follows:

  • Performance of a Contract: We process your account data (email, username) to fulfill our contract with you to provide the Services.
  • Legitimate Interests: We rely on our legitimate interests for security purposes and for using privacy-friendly analytics to improve our Services, provided these interests are not overridden by your data protection rights.
  • Legal Obligation: We may need to process certain information to comply with legal requirements, such as financial and tax regulations.

5. How We Share Your Information

  • Stripe: For processing payments. They are compliant with strict security and privacy standards. (Based in the USA)
  • Hostinger: For hosting our application, database, and email services. (Data centers may vary, but they have EU options)

  • Plausible Analytics: For website and service analytics. (Based in the EU)

6. Data Retention

We will retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Services. We may also retain your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Upon account cancellation, your data will be deleted in accordance with our policies.
